Community Commitment

Libby's House is a community leader in senior care and serves as a resource and advocate for seniors, especially those with memory impairment. It is for that reason that Libby's House staff is active and/or serves on boards of the following organizations.

Alzheimer's Association

The mission of the Alzheimer's Association is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

Libby's House staff facilitate local support groups for caregivers of those with memory loss. For more information on local support groups, please contact Alzheimer's Association Regional Representative, Ginny Nyhuis at 920-838-1311.

Sheboygan County Memory Walk

Libby's House is also a proud supporter of the annual Sheboygan County Memory Walk held on the fourth Saturday in September at the Sports Core, Kohler, WI. Memory Walk is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support and research - and it calls on people of all ages to take action in the fight.

Dementia Care Network

The Dementia Care Network of Sheboygan County (DCN) is a group of professionals in senior care working collaboratively to provide education, awareness and support to those affected by Alzheimer's. The group also offers educational programs to healthcare providers and the general public.

Sheboygan County End of Life Coalition

The Sheboygan County End of Life Coalition is a collaborative effort of area organizations and their resources to develop and implement strategies to foster Advance Health Care Planning and other support services in Sheboygan County. The Coalition provides educational opportunities for the community regarding Advance Directives, grief resources and end-of-life options through group presentations or one-on-one meetings.

Chamber of Commerce

The Plymouth Chamber of Commerce offers a wide range of programs, including seminars, events and networking, to assure that the local economy grows and businesses prosper.

Sheboygan County Chaplaincy

The Sheboygan County Chaplaincy is a ministry that cares for the spiritual well-being of the elderly, infirmed, dementia patients, and the developmentally disabled; their families; and caregivers.

Family Caregivers Coalition in Sheboygan County

Libby's House is a member of this coalition which works to identify, recognize, support and enhance the role of those affected by care giving through community outreach, education, peer support and shared resources in order to help family caregivers.
